There was a couple of ways we could do the holidays this year. We did not like either choice. I was trying to come up with something for my small company and my employees and spouses. We had a party at the offices last year, and it was so so. We had a dinner out at a restaurant the year before. It was so so too. My wife suggested we have a Christmas party in Bath where we shoot sporting clays. I did not know they hosted such things, but it turns out that they offer packages for families and businesses to provide a meal and some shooting time. They have all kinds of different clay shooting scenarios. One package lets you shoot over 100 clays per person. That would tire everyone out letting them feel they got some value out of the event.
The meals are prepared by their own Chef Suzanne, so I figured we would give it a try and book an event this year for the holidays. My employees were surprised and intrigued at the same time. Their spouses were all on board to attend. I got wind that no one was going to need to be dragged to the office party for the holidays this year. That is a good thing. I don’t want it to be an obligation. I want it to be fun and memorable. I also planned to give them all gifts this year after the prizes are awarded to the shooters after the meal.
This year will include a nice bonus in their paychecks along with some gadgets for gifts that I know they will all like. Plus, I really like shooting sporting clays too. I don’t get to do it as often as I would like though. It will be fun to compete with my management staff.
